Frequently asked questions

Find answers about free features, AI editing, saving photos, and more.

Can I edit and save photos for free?

Yes. Basic mosaic and blur effects, emoji stamps, and saving photos are free. The free version displays ads. Cropping and blurred frames have additional access requirements.

What does Pro include?

Pro removes ads and includes cropping and blurred frames. Monthly, yearly, and one-time purchase options are available. Check the purchase screen in the app for current prices and free trial eligibility.

Can I use cropping and blurred frames for free?

Watching a video ad to the end unlocks cropping and blurred frames for 24 hours. The offer shown may vary depending on ad availability. These features are also included in Pro.

What if the AI misses a face or pet?

Recognition can vary with photo orientation, face size, and how the subject appears. Use the brush or rectangle tool to cover anything missed. Check the whole photo before saving.

Can I leave some faces visible?

After automatic editing, use the eraser to restore faces you want to keep, or manually cover only the faces you want to hide. The app does not automatically identify and exclude particular people.

Can the app preserve pets other than dogs and cats automatically?

Automatic pet recognition supports dogs and cats. For other animals, edit the background manually.

I cannot save a photo.

Check the app's Photos permission in your iPhone settings. The setting name can vary by iOS version. Then tap the share button in the editor and choose “Save to Photo Library” again.

Does the app edit videos or multiple photos at once?

Instant Blur edits one photo at a time. This guide covers photo editing, not video editing or batch processing.

Where does AI recognition take place?

Face and subject recognition and image editing take place on your device. See the Privacy Policy for information about advertising and usage data.

Why do some screenshots show an older Japanese app name?

Some screens in version 2.5 still show the former Japanese name, Shunkan Mosaic. On this English website, the app is introduced as Instant Blur.

How do I restore purchases after reinstalling or changing phones?

Sign in with the same Apple Account and try “Restore Purchases” on the app's purchase screen. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your iPhone's subscription settings. Setting names can vary by iOS version.
